Hi all,

With the end of the Shiny Arcanine promotion, it's now time to bring on the next challenger!
This month's giveaway will run a little longer and be a bit different from the previous ones hosted here.  As the prize is a super rare and highly unique Pokemon, the stakes are a little higher!
Here are the specifics and rules of this giveaway!

First, the Pokemon up for grabs this month is a Shiny Rayquaza.  Check out the screen shots to the left to see the Pokemon's stats and moves.  This Pokemon was a special distribution in Japan and ran for a very limited time.  The Pokemon's original trainer is Nobunaga, Japan's first Emperor.  Although in Pokemon Conquest, his Pokemon is Zekrom, the Rayquaza was a special cross-promotion for Pokemon and

Nobunaga's Ambition made available for Pokemon White Version and Pokemon Black Version through Wi-Fi distribution .
How to Enter:
First, you must Like my Facebook Page HERE
Second, comment on the event with what is your favorite Pokemon type.  Your comment will earn one entry into the competition.  To gain bonus entries you need to refer a friend to the page.  Have your friend comment with your name and their favorite Pokemon type and you will each receive two bonus entries! For your friend's entries to be valid, they must also like my Facebook page.
The contest will run from 10/2/13 until midnight Central Time 11/1/13 and there must be at least 50 unique entrants for the prize to be awarded.
So, get your friends involved and you have a higher chance of winning!  Remember, if we don't reach 50 comments from unique people who all like the page Rayquaza will disappear back into the tall grass!

I bet this Pokemon will look amazing with the new graphics of Pokemon X and Y!
Let's get lots of people involved and talk Pokemon and other awesome things!!

Remember, to receive Rayquaza, you must have access to Wi-Fi and be willing to give out your friend code for the trade to occur.  I really don't care what Pokemon you send back, feel free to send a Lv. 3 Lillipup if you'd like!  Good luck and best wishes!

POKEMON STARTERS GIVEAWAY 2013!

Hey guys!  It's time for Multiples Of Zero's second Pokemon Giveaway!

For this promotion, I want to know which Pokemon generation has your favorite starter Pokemon.  Which was your first generation that introduced you to the series?  Let me know and you could walk away with a set of starters from generations I-V!  That's right!!  You could win all the starters, from Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle to Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott.  These starters have all been bred legitimately by myself and will be distributed either as eggs, or level 1 Pokemon.  The breeding process is done at the Pokemon Day Care by breeding with a Ditto from Japan, which means increased chances of receiving a Shiny Pokemon if taken as an egg due to the Masuda Method of breeding.

So, what are you waiting for?  Like my Facebook Page and comment on the milestone for a chance to win the ultimate set of starters!  Tell your friends!

How to win and rules for the contest:
  • To enter the contest you must like the page Multiples Of Zero on Facebook.
  • Contest will run from 9/27/13 to 10/12/13.  Winner will be announced on 10/13/13.
  • On the Multiples Of Zero page on Facebook, find the milestone for the contest and leave a comment about which is your favorite Generation.  The winner will be chosen at random from the comments on October 12th.
  • The set of Pokemon starters will then be traded via WiFi to your Pokemon Black/White or Black 2/White 2 game cartridge within 7 days.  You must be willing to share your friend code so that communication may be established via Pal Pad within Pokemon game.
  • You must own a copy of Pokemon Black, Pokemon White, Pokemon Black 2 or Pokemon White 2 and have access to WiFi for distribution to occur.
  • You must have a Pokemon to trade in order to receive Pokemon Starters.  Type of Pokemon and Level do not matter.

  • Winner will be announced on the Multiples Of Zero page on Facebook and Blogger.

Pokemon Conquest and gamestop are teaming up to bring it this June

Pokemon Conquest is now incredibly close!  With a US release date of June 16th this game really snuck up since it's announcement earlier this year.  This strategy RPG will blend Pokemon with Nobunaga's ambition like it has never been done before in an all new Pokemon experience.  As the game draws near, some tasty morsels of information have come forth.
The first is a message on the official site, http://www.pokemonconquest.com/en-us/news, which talks about upcoming downloable episodes and content via Nintendo WFC.
The second is a pre-order announcement from Gamestop detailing a way to have ten Pokemon under your command from the start of the game.  If you pre-order by June 16th and pick up your game by June 26th you will gain access to Emolga, Lapras, Pikachu, Riolu and Scyther.  If you are a Power-Up member, you can cash in 1,000 points to gain access to another five: Axew, Beldum, Darmanitan, Larvitar, and Sneasel!
AWESOME!!

Leaked Pokemon Black and White 2 Animated Trailer

Just leaked is the new fully animated Pokemon Black and White 2 trailer!  Sadly, it only depicts exsisting Pokemon and no new ones other than the Black and White versions of Kyurem.  The trailer does offer up some tantalizing action and some cool plot premises with lots of returning characters and locations, and of course, the insidious Team Plasma.  Get ready to return to Unova with this amazing trailer and see what events will transpire just two years after to conclusion of the last story.

A Poketactical RPG This Way Comes

It's been a while since I've posted, but some of the most exciting Pokemon news have come down the pipe.  As much as I love Pokemon as a JRPG and the hook of catching them all...still trying to catch all the older gen Pokemon on Black & White...Nintendo has released some news in Japan that have me frothing with excitement.  In their first partnership, the Pokemon Company and KOEI jumped the gun from their announcement at Jump Festa and burst into the scene with their mega-team-up announcement: Pokemon+Nobunaga's Ambition.  Strange?  Yes...Exciting?  YES!  As a fan of tactical RPGs and Pokemon, this is a match made in heaven.
Not a lot of details have been announced for this title, but a teaser trailer has been concocted.  How will Pokemon play a role in traditional Japanese folklore?  Will this be the big step into Pokemon growing up?  Will this even release outside of Japan??  Stay tuned and in the meantime froth over this trailer...

Zelda 25th Anniversary Flipnote Contest

by jose martinez

Break out the ol' DSi
For all you Zelda fans out there, Nintendo announced a contest that will put your creative skills to the test.  The Make Your Own Zelda Flipnote contest began on August 8th and will run through September 9th.  The object is to create an animation utilizing Zelda characters to tell a short narrative using your DSiWare Flipnote Studio.  You will be able to download a soundtrack for your epic 20 second masterpiece.  The trick is that if you traded in your trusty DSi for a 3DS, you're out of luck, as this application is not on the new handheld.  You can still do things the old way and submit a hand drawn entry, but that just screams carpal tunnel.   In any case, I'm glad I held on to mine, because you better believe there will be an Elvis0fTheDead entry in this contest.  For more details and tips on how                                                                          to draw Link, check out the official site HERE.

Greatest Turn Based Strategy Game of all Time

by Jose Martinez

There are many turn based strategy games that have left their mark over the years.  From Ogre Battle to Final Fantasy Tactics, there is one that stands above all others.  This title came unannounced from the shores of Japan from a developer that no one on the western shores had ever heard of.  In a genre that was ruled by the power house of Squaresoft, Enix, Koei and Atlus, a little company called Nippon Ichi Software decided to throw in its lot.  Being unknown in the US, to publish the title they partnered with RPG and tactics colossus Atlus to release their first American title on the Playstation 2.  Their opening salvo was a game which American gamers could not even pronounce at the time.  This shot heard around the world was fired on the American shores on August 27th, 2003 and it was called Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and it was the single reason NIS is a household name for JRPG and tactics fans.  It is the single greatest turn based strategy game I have ever played, and in fact, it's one of the greatest period.

As a game fanatic in 2003, I was working as a sales representative at Gamestop.  At the time I was completely in love with the charm of the Japanese RPG and had devoted myself to titles published by Squaresoft, Atlus, Enix and Koei.  When the marketing came in for Disgaea. I had no idea what it was.  It was an oversized cardboard box made to look like the retail packaging.  I remember really liking the artwork on the cover and noticing the Atlus logo on the bottom right hand corner.  I quickly placed the game on pre-order and awaited it's release.  In the meantime, I watched the trailer over and over as I fell in love with something else I had never heard of, the band Tsunami Bomb which Atlus used for the attitude filled US trailer.  No one had any idea of this game's release, so when it launched we received three copies, including my pre-order.  After picking up my game, I went home to play it, and found myself having many sick days thereafter.  When at work, I felt compelled to spread the gospel of Disgaea and as other like minded gamers also fell in love, we found ourselves never having enough supply, and thus a sleeper, cult hit was born.  After much success in game reviews and much praise from critics, Sony soon re-released the title as one of it's Greatest Hits lineup.

The game places you in the role of the Antihero Laharl, son of King Krichevskoy and heir to the throne of the Underworld.  You take over as Laharl's vassal Etna awakens him from a two year nap.  During this time, the King has choked to death and the entire underworld wants to kill Laharl for a seat on the throne.  Laharl, Etna and a squad of Prinnies take to the road to prove Laharl is the most powerful demon in the Underworld and true successor to the dead King.  On their adventures they meet Angel Assassin Flonne, Midboss Vyers, intergalactic dunderhead heroes Captain Gordon, Jennifer and their robot Thursday and many other colorful and memorable characters.  As the plot unfolds you fall into a world of treachery in which you find yourself pitted not only against the Underworld, but Heaven and Earth as well.  Suddenly, a world which was black and white gains many shades and our heroes grow with the challenges making demons and angels alike see that there is much more to what they are than just good and evil.

The charm of the writing and hilarious script aren't the only thing that makes the game so amazing.  This game also brought a ton of innovation in the gameplay department and some of these features added hundreds of hours to the games play time.  My favorite of these was the item world, a place in which not only your characters could become stronger but as you delve deeper and deeper into the item, it also levels up.  You could jump into any item to power it up, as an added bonus you could defeat specialists in that item to move them into others that you are powering up, giving your favorite armors and weapons unlimited potential for power.  Another great diversion is the Demon Court, in which you can spend the mana you earn from defeating enemies to purchase new troops and build a massive army of varied humanoids and monsters.  Your troops could be comprised of anything from zombies, clerics, warriors, dragons, or dozens more.  The possibilities are limitless and the more you do with them, the more characters become available to you.  Another amazing feature is a clever twist on the battle plane called Geo Pannels.  These color colored squares all have the attribute of the Geo Symbol  on the same colored square, which can range from boosts to your party such as boosted experience or invincibility to boosts to the enemy's stats like damage plus 50%.  You can chose to use these to your advantage, or set them up and destroy them for massive chains and a huge point boost at the end of the stage.

Sadly, many gamers have yet to play this masterpiece, but all hope is not lost as the game is still available via ports to the Nintendo DS (Disgaea DS) and Sony PSP (Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness).  If you are one of the many that have not played, don't waste anymore time!  If you are a fan of the genre or the Japanese style of storytelling this is an absolute must have title.  This game will be a total time killer for hundreds of hours.  I was so addicted that I purchased a small monitor so that I could play next to my bed on my Playstation 2 as I could not go to sleep without it.  If you don't fall in love with this game and it's characters, you are lacking a soul.  Prinny Dood!

If you haven't played it yet, click on the link below and end your sadness

This, of course, is my opinion.  Feel free to leave comments below and let me know if you agree, or which one your favorite might be.
